A Wedding by the Beach
Having a wedding is one of the most exciting events that any couple will ever experience. Because a wedding is such a special occasion, couples should do their best to make the most of their special day. By choosing a wedding theme, the bride and groom can customize their wedding to suit their needs. One wedding theme that is growing more popular is a beach wedding theme. The wonderful benefit to choosing a theme for your wedding is that you can use your theme to tie in your attire, bridal jewelry, accessories, menu, and décor. Some couples have a difficult time deciding what type of wedding they want to host. Usually the groom is a little more laid back and in most cases would prefer a casual shindig, while the bride wants to hold fast to her dream of having a princess wedding. Before a bride can move forward on finding the perfect wedding gown, bridal jewelry, and all of the other elements that are involved in planning a wedding, she and the groom must make a final decision on the style of wedding that they will host.
Hosting a beach theme wedding is the perfect compromise for a couple that is in disagreement on the type of wedding that they want to have. Beach weddings can be casual, formal, informal, or in between. In order to please both the bride and groom, a couple might consider hosting a beachside wedding to give the wedding a laid back, relaxed appeal, but hold the wedding in the evening for a more romantic ambiance. The bride can choose wedding attire that is beach appropriate, but make it a little more formal with fancy bridal jewelry.
Groom’s Attire
The groom, best man, and groomsmen may consider wearing linen slacks and a cotton button down shirt with sandals.
Bride’s Attire
The bride should choose a lightweight bridal gown with coordinating jewelry. If the wind is blowing moderately or heavily, wearing a veil might not be appropriate. A sundress is appropriate attire for the bridesmaids.
Decorations
Soft lighting and candles are a great way to add ambiance to a beach themed wedding.
Menu
Choosing seafood related items such as cocktail shrimp, lobster tail, and fish for the menu are appropriate for a beachside wedding.
Although the bride has the final say in most cases, it’s important for the bride and groom to make every effort to consider each other’s feelings. After all, marriage involves compromise”planning a wedding is great practice for getting married. When it comes to wedding attire, bridal jewelry, food, decorations, and wedding favors, the bride and groom can use their wedding theme as a guideline when making appropriate decisions about their wedding.

Here on Maui we see so many beach weddings..they certainly are beautiful. Saves money on decorating too! Your tip about the wind is a good one..here on Maui we have a lot of trade winds..so while sometimes it calms down around evening it still is often windy. so wearing ones hair up or the top part away from the face is a good idea otherwise the bride will have her hair constantly in her face.
If you do decide to wear a veil and it’s windy..you have an awesome photo opportunity with the veil blowing out behind you. I’ve seen pics like that and they are amazing
